Job Overview

IMK Business Consultants is seeking two dynamic Sales Associates to expand its market share in the uniforms, workwear and personal protective equipment sectors, targeting institutions such as schools, offices, factories, hospitals and NGOs throughout Uganda. The role focuses on lead generation and contract closure.

Successful candidates will identify and qualify leads from educational institutions, corporate offices, manufacturing plants and healthcare facilities, developing a robust prospect pipeline through research, networking and direct outreach to decision makers. They will tailor presentations to address client needs and showcase product benefits.

The position offers exposure to a growing manufacturing hub that produces school uniforms, corporate wear and safety gear, while Sales Associates collaborate with production teams to ensure timely delivery and maintain long-term client relationships. They will gather market feedback to continuously improve product offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify leads from schools, companies, factories, hospitals and NGOs using market research, cold calling and networking to build an effective prospect pipeline.
  • Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations highlighting the benefits of consistent uniform supply, branded office wear and protective gear to institutional decision makers across Uganda.
  • Conduct on-site fittings, measurement drives and sample presentations at client premises to assess needs, recommend appropriate uniform sizes and styles, and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing and delivery timelines with head teachers, bursars, directors and procurement officers to secure favorable effective supply agreements for annual institutional budgets.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quotations, bids and sales contracts for new clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies and alignment with client specifications and expectations.
  • Visit existing customers regularly to evaluate satisfaction, gather feedback, promote additional products such as safety boots, footwear and complementary workwear items, and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Coordinate sales activities with marketing campaigns and the production/tailoring team to ensure order deadlines are met, inventory levels are optimized and customer delivery expectations exceeded.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions and pipeline progress in the CRM system, providing reports to the sales manager and informing strategy decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or a related field, with proven ability to understand institutional buying processes and navigate complex procurement environments.
  • Minimum two years of experience in B2B sales, preferably selling uniforms, workwear, protective gear or similar institutional products to schools, corporations and healthcare facilities nationwide.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging head teachers, bursars, directors and HR managers in persuasive discussions that drive purchasing decisions in Ugandan markets.
  • Ability to travel frequently within Kampala and surrounding regions to visit clients, conduct fittings, deliver product samples and gather market intelligence as required consistently daily.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and MS Office to track leads, manage quotations, generate sales reports and analyze performance metrics for ongoing continuous monthly improvement.
  • Self‑motivated, target‑driven individual with a track record of meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly sales goals in competitive markets, demonstrating resilience and adaptability across Uganda.

Desirable

  • Experience working with sewing hubs, uniform manufacturers or PPE suppliers, understanding production lead times, quality standards and capacity planning to ensure timely order fulfillment consistently.
  • Knowledge of Ugandan education sector procurement cycles and budgeting timelines for school uniform contracts, including tender processes and approval hierarchies across primary and secondary institutions.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards for protective gear, footwear and workplace equipment in industrial settings, including OSHA and ISO compliance requirements in Ugandan industries.
  • Ability to speak Luganda or Swahili in addition to English, enhancing communication with diverse client groups across Uganda and improving relationship building outcomes effectively successfully.
  • Experience in preparing tender documents, bids and participating in public procurement processes for government or institutional contracts, ensuring adherence to legal and procedural guidelines strictly.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle for client visits, with mileage reimbursement provided by the company and adherence to travel policies strictly.
