Job Overview

Safari Share is seeking energetic Field Representatives to join its growing team in Kampala. The role involves engaging with communities, collecting market data, and promoting brand awareness across various neighborhoods.

As a Field Representative, you will work directly with residents and businesses, gathering insights that help shape product offerings and service improvements. This position offers daily pay, data allowances, and the chance to develop valuable communication and networking skills.

The ideal candidate is proactive, enjoys meeting new people, and possesses a strong work ethic. Safari Share values diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply for this field-based position.

Key Responsibilities

Field Representatives play a vital role in gathering grassroots insights that inform product development and marketing strategies. Your daily activities will involve direct interaction with community members and accurate data capture.

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews with households and small businesses to collect detailed consumer preferences, usage patterns, and feedback on existing Safari Share products and services.
  • Record accurate data using mobile devices, verify entries, and submit daily reports to the supervising team via WhatsApp before the end of each shift.
  • Distribute promotional materials and product samples while explaining key benefits, answering questions, and addressing concerns to potential customers in assigned zones throughout Kampala.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Safari Share services, communicate any updates or changes to clients during field visits, and note client suggestions for future product enhancements.
  • Identify new sales opportunities, relay feedback to the marketing team, and assist in planning localized promotions that align with community needs and seasonal trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety guidelines, and local regulations while performing duties, and report any incidents promptly to the field supervisor.

Performance is measured through weekly data quality scores, customer feedback ratings, and the number of successful engagements completed. Regular check-ins help representatives stay on target and improve their field techniques.

  • Basic smartphone proficiency for data entry, using WhatsApp for reporting, navigating map applications, and capturing photos or uploading required documentation to the central server.
  • Resident of Kampala or surrounding suburbs with reliable transportation to reach assigned zones each day, ensuring punctuality and consistent field coverage.

Additionally, the following attributes are advantageous but not mandatory for candidates applying to this position.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in field marketing, sales promotion, or community outreach roles, demonstrating a track record of meeting targets and engaging effectively with the public.
  • Knowledge of Kampala’s geography, including major landmarks, transport routes, and neighborhood boundaries, to navigate efficiently between assigned zones.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting daily targets, maintaining high data quality standards, and adapting to changing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Availability to start immediately and willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, to support peak campaign periods and special events.

Successful applicants will receive a brief orientation covering company policies, data collection tools, and safety procedures before commencing field activities.
