Job Overview

CFAO Motors Uganda is seeking a motivated Workshop Sales Consultant to join their team in Kampala. This role focuses on promoting and selling workshop services, maintenance packages, repairs, and spare parts to customers. The consultant serves as the vital link between customers and the workshop, ensuring satisfaction and driving after-sales revenue. CFAO Motors Uganda is the exclusive manufacturer-authorised distributor of brand-new Toyota vehicles and genuine parts in Uganda. As part of CFAO Automotive and the CFAO Group, which is affiliated with Toyota Tsusho Corporation, the company offers Toyota Manufacturer’s warranty and maintains high service standards. The Workshop Sales Consultant will be responsible for achieving sales targets for labour, parts, and workshop revenue while building strong relationships with workshops, fleet operators, and retail customers. This position requires a proactive approach to customer engagement and service promotion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional advice on vehicle maintenance and repairs to help customers make informed decisions about their vehicles.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with workshops, fleet operators, and retail customers to encourage repeat business and loyalty.
  • Promote workshop services, preventive maintenance programmes, service contracts, and seasonal campaigns to increase service uptake.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for labour, parts, and workshop revenue through consistent performance and follow-up.
  • Arrange, plan, and execute customer visits and provide timely reporting to the after-sales commercial manager.
  • Adhere to all company SOPs, especially sales process SOPs, to ensure compliance and standardised service delivery.
  • Explain repair requirements, costs, and timelines clearly to customers to manage expectations and build trust.
  • Monitor job progress and provide regular updates to customers to ensure transparency throughout the service process.
  • Maintain a database of customers and prospect for new workshop business to expand the client base and drive growth.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • A Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a Business or Automotive discipline is required for foundational knowledge.
  • Two years’ experience in sales and marketing within the automotive industry is essential for understanding market dynamics.
  • Product and automotive industry knowledge is necessary to effectively communicate service benefits and technical details.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for customer visits and mobility across Kampala and surrounding areas.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including CRM systems and MS Office, is needed for data management and reporting.
  • Driving skills with manual transmission are a must for operating company vehicles during customer engagements.

Desirable

  • Experience with Toyota vehicles or specific automotive brands is advantageous for faster onboarding and credibility.
  • Previous exposure to service contracts or maintenance packages helps in promoting these offerings effectively.
  • Fluency in Luganda or other local languages enhances communication with a broader customer base in Uganda.
  • Knowledge of automotive financing or insurance options can add value when advising customers on service packages.
  • Experience in fleet management sales is beneficial for engaging corporate and institutional clients.
  • Certification in customer service or sales techniques demonstrates commitment to professional development.
