Job Overview

Daniel Perfumes is seeking an experienced Assistant Marketing Director to support the development and execution of innovative marketing strategies for its premium fragrance and beauty portfolio. This full‑time position is based in Uganda and offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team that drives brand growth across multiple channels. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping brand perception, managing product launches, and analysing market trends to inform strategic decisions. This role is ideal for a marketing professional who thrives in a fast‑paced corporate environment and is passionate about luxury consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant Marketing Director, you will collaborate closely with the Marketing Director to create comprehensive marketing plans that align with the company’s vision and business objectives. You will be responsible for managing the end‑to‑end execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring that each initiative is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This includes coordinating with creative agencies, media planners, and internal stakeholders to produce compelling advertising materials that resonate with target audiences.

You will oversee product launch activities, from concept development through to market introduction, working closely with product development, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure a seamless rollout. Your role will involve conducting thorough market research and analysing consumer insights to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities within the luxury beauty sector. You will translate these insights into actionable recommendations that inform brand positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional tactics.

Additionally, you will monitor the performance of all marketing initiatives using key performance indicators and analytics tools, preparing regular reports for senior management that highlight successes, challenges, and areas for improvement. You will also maintain the premium brand image across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, and customer experience across digital platforms, retail environments, and promotional events.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Product Development, Brand Management, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree or MBA will be considered an added advantage and demonstrates a deeper understanding of strategic marketing principles. Applicants should have a minimum of three years of progressive experience in a fast‑paced corporate setting, preferably within the luxury, beauty, fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG), or consumer brands sectors.

Proven expertise in brand strategy development, digital marketing execution, integrated communications, and project management is essential. You should be comfortable working with data analytics platforms, social media management tools, and marketing automation software to drive measurable results. Strong interpersonal skills are required, as you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, external agencies, and senior leadership to achieve shared goals.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are crucial for crafting compelling brand narratives and presenting ideas persuasively. You must demonstrate a keen eye for detail, a creative mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organisational effectiveness.
