Job Overview

Bond Star Limited, a prominent manufacturer of tile adhesives operating in Kiwenda – Wakiso, together with its sister company Luba Properties Limited, is seeking an experienced Accounts & Finance Manager to lead its financial function. The role sits at the heart of the organization, ensuring fiscal discipline and supporting strategic growth initiatives.

The Accounts & Finance Manager will oversee all accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and statutory compliance, while providing accurate data for decision‑making. This position partners closely with senior leadership to drive profitability, manage risk, and ensure sustainable financial performance across the manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will lead a dedicated finance team, mentor junior staff, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and internal policies, while coordinating with external auditors for timely audit completion.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting processes, and variance analysis to provide actionable insights that support strategic planning and informed decision‑making by senior management.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, optimizing collection periods, negotiating favorable payment terms with distributors, and minimizing outstanding balances to improve working capital efficiency.
• Monitor inventory accounting and cost of goods sold, preparing regular valuation reports, analyzing production costs, and recommending cost‑saving measures to enhance profitability.
• Ensure compliance with Uganda Revenue Authority regulations, including VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and withholding tax, preparing accurate returns and managing audits to avoid penalties.
• Develop financial models to project revenues, expenses, and profitability on weekly, monthly, and quarterly bases, supporting budget formulation and long‑term strategic forecasting.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, conducting performance evaluations, identifying training needs, and fostering a collaborative environment that upholds high ethical standards.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls, risk management procedures, and fraud prevention measures to safeguard company assets and ensure reliable financial information.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Commerce with a major in Finance and Accounting, or Economics, from a recognized university, with strong academic performance.
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA, demonstrating expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and adherence to international and local regulatory frameworks.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in financial operations within a manufacturing or related industry, including managing trade margins, collections, payments, and financial analysis.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ugandan taxation laws, payroll processing, VAT regulations, and statutory reporting requirements, with ability to prepare accurate returns and manage audits efficiently.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, particularly modules for general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, and cost accounting, to streamline financial processes.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proven capacity to work under pressure while delivering accurate financial information to stakeholders on time.

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, providing advanced strategic insight for complex financial decision‑making and enhances leadership capability.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools such as Hyperion or Adaptive Insights, enabling dynamic financial planning and scenario analysis for business growth.
• Track record of implementing process improvements, automation initiatives, and cost‑reduction projects that have increased efficiency and profitability in fast‑paced manufacturing environments.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth financial operations and reliable reporting.
