Job Overview
AS ONE MINISTRIES UGANDA COMPANY LIMITED seeks a dedicated Swahili Teacher for AsOne High School in the Luuka/Serere community. This full-time position focuses on delivering Kiswahili instruction aligned with Uganda’s national curriculum and UNEB standards. The role supports academic excellence within a Christ-centered learning environment.
The successful candidate will teach O-Level and/or A-Level students, developing their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Kiswahili. Working closely with the Director of Studies and fellow educators, the teacher contributes to curriculum planning and student assessment. The position begins in January 2027.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Kiswahili lessons following the national secondary curriculum and UNEB syllabus requirements for all assigned classes.
- Develop detailed schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment schedules tailored to O-Level and A-Level student needs.
- Create engaging classroom activities that build strong grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and communication skills in Kiswahili.
- Conduct regular assessments including tests, quizzes, and oral examinations to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and achievement in accordance with school and ministry guidelines.
- Participate in subject department meetings to collaborate on curriculum development and share best practices with fellow teachers.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities that promote Kiswahili language and East African culture, such as language clubs or cultural events.
- Uphold the school’s Christ-centered values by integrating faith-based principles into classroom management and student interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Diploma in Education with specialization in Kiswahili Language or Literature from a recognized Ugandan institution.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in Kiswahili at secondary school level, preferably O-Level or A-Level.
- Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili languages for effective instruction and communication with students and staff.
- Familiarity with Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) Kiswahili syllabus and assessment standards for secondary education.
- Ability to develop learner-centered lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities in the classroom.
- Commitment to professional ethics and integrity consistent with the Christian mission of AS ONE MINISTRIES.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Kiswahili Studies from an accredited university.
- Experience teaching in rural or community-based schools similar to the Luuka/Serere context.
- Knowledge of ICT integration in language teaching, including use of educational software and multimedia resources.
- Previous involvement in curriculum development or textbook review panels for Kiswahili education.
- Training in special needs education or differentiated instruction techniques for diverse learner populations.
- Active participation in professional associations for language educators in Uganda or East Africa.
