ICEA Lion Uganda is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Unit Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team of Risk Financial Advisors in Kampala. Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and motivate a high-performing sales unit of Financial Advisors to achieve consistent monthly and quarterly targets.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives to drive revenue growth and market penetration in Kampala.
- Provide hands-on field coaching, conduct regular performance reviews, and deliver continuous training to enhance advisor productivity and skills.
- Monitor key performance indicators, track individual and team progress, and implement corrective actions to ensure target attainment.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, ensure business quality compliance, and promote high client retention rates through superior service delivery.
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor new Financial Advisors, assessing their potential and providing tailored development plans for long-term success.
- Collaborate with underwriting and product teams to ensure accurate client needs analysis and appropriate solution recommendations.
- Prepare and submit regular performance reports, forecasts, and business reviews to senior management with actionable insights.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in sales management or senior advisory roles within the insurance, banking, or financial services sector.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, achieving sales targets, and driving business growth in competitive markets.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams toward common goals.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office for performance analysis and reporting.
Desirable
- Professional qualifications such as ACII, CII, or equivalent insurance industry certifications.
- Experience specifically in life insurance, risk financial advisory, or investment-linked product sales.
- Prior experience working in a target-driven, commission-based sales environment with override structures.
- Familiarity with Ugandan insurance regulations, market dynamics, and consumer behavior patterns.
- Ability to speak multiple local languages including Luganda, Swahili, or other regional dialects to enhance client engagement.
