Job Overview

The Manager Marketing and Commercial Services at Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and enhancing the organization’s market presence. This position is crucial for expanding both aeronautical and non-aeronautical business streams across Uganda’s airports.

Working from Uganda, you will lead strategic marketing initiatives and commercial operations at Entebbe International Airport and thirteen upcountry aerodromes. The role demands expertise in modern marketing techniques combined with deep understanding of aviation industry dynamics in East Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote UCAA services and attract new business partnerships across Uganda’s aviation network.
• Manage commercial concessions and lease agreements for airport retail spaces while ensuring optimal return on investment for the authority.
• Oversee property rental operations at airports to maximize revenue through strategic tenant selection and competitive market pricing.
• Lead customer engagement initiatives that enhance passenger experience and build brand loyalty among domestic and international travelers.
• Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging opportunities and adapt commercial strategies based on competitive intelligence and industry trends.
• Collaborate with airport operations teams to integrate marketing efforts with service delivery improvements across all UCAA-managed facilities.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field from a recognized institution in Uganda or equivalent international qualification.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in marketing management, commercial development, or business development within aviation, hospitality, or large corporate environments.
• Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing commercial contracts that deliver measurable revenue growth and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to interpret market data, financial reports, and customer behavior insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English and ability to coordinate effectively across diverse teams and external partners.

Desirable

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or International Business would be a significant advantage for this leadership position.
• Previous experience working within regulatory bodies, government agencies, or international aviation organizations such as IATA or ACI-Africa.
• Certification in digital marketing, data analytics, or project management methodologies like PMP or PRINCE2.
• Familiarity with Uganda’s aviation market landscape, regulatory framework, and key stakeholders including government ministries and private sector partners.
