- Proactively contact clients before and after payment due dates to negotiate flexible repayment plans and prevent defaults.
- Maintain positive and respectful client relationships throughout the collections process, ensuring amicable resolutions even in difficult situations.
- Conduct field visits to assess borrower circumstances, verify collateral, and recover overdue loans through structured debt recovery strategies.
- Identify potential fraud risks in loan applications and flag suspicious patterns that could impact portfolio performance or lead to financial losses.
- Prepare and submit accurate collection reports, including call logs, payment plans, and recovery outcomes, to support management decision-making.
- Assist in processing new loan applications by reviewing documentation, verifying client details, and ensuring compliance with company credit policies.
- Support customer acquisition and retention initiatives by building trust, providing financial education, and promoting SimplePay Capital’s services in local communities.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive client conversations professionally and empathetically.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and basic loan management software for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
- Willingness to work in field conditions, travel frequently between districts, and adapt to flexible working hours as required by the role.
- Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail to accurately track repayments, calculate penalties, and manage client accounts.
Desirable
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or Business Studies from a recognized university in Uganda.
- Previous experience working with microfinance institutions or rural banking programs in East Africa is highly advantageous.
- Certification in credit management, debt collection, or financial literacy training from a reputable organization.
- Fluency in local Ugandan languages such as Luganda, Runyankole, Ateso, or Luo to effectively communicate with rural clients.
- Experience using CRM tools or digital loan platforms for client tracking and portfolio monitoring.
What the Role Offers

- Comprehensive health insurance coverage including outpatient and inpatient services for employees and their immediate dependents.
- Transport allowance and field travel reimbursement to cover expenses incurred during district visits and client meetings.
- Structured career development program with regular training sessions on credit risk, customer service, and financial regulations.
- Accommodation support or housing allowance provided for officers assigned to remote districts without reliable public transport.
- Annual leave entitlement of 21 working days plus public holidays, with flexible scheduling options during peak collection periods.
- Opportunity to grow within a fast-expanding financial services company that prioritizes employee empowerment and community impact.
