Key Responsibilities

• Weigh raw materials accurately using calibrated scales and record measurements in the production logbook for each batch, ensuring traceability and compliance with quality standards.
• Perform daily calibration checks on weighing equipment, documenting results and coordinating maintenance with technical teams to prevent measurement errors and ensure consistent product quality.
• Monitor material inventory levels, alert supervisors to shortages or excesses, and assist in reconciling physical counts with system records to support uninterrupted production flow.
• Follow safety protocols when handling heavy bags of raw materials, using appropriate lifting techniques and personal protective equipment to minimize workplace hazards.
• Prepare daily weighing reports summarizing material usage, variances, and any deviations, then submit them to the production manager for review and action planning.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to investigate any weight discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to maintain product specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the weighing area, ensuring that scales, tools, and workspaces are free from debris and ready for accurate operation each shift.
• Train new operators on weighing procedures, safety practices, and documentation requirements, fostering a culture of precision and accountability within the manufacturing team.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field from a recognized institution, with demonstrated understanding of production processes and quality management principles.
• Minimum of 12 months hands-on experience in raw material weighing, batching, or similar production support roles within a manufacturing environment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in using digital and analog weighing scales, including calibration procedures and basic troubleshooting techniques, while maintaining accurate records of measurements for audit purposes.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, capable of recording data accurately and performing simple calculations without errors to support reliable production reporting.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety regulations consistently, demonstrating a commitment to workplace health and environmental standards and promoting a safe work culture.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with supervisors, technicians, and team members, ensuring clear exchange of information regarding weighing activities and production needs.

Desirable

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle for recording material transactions and generating real-time inventory reports to enhance supply chain visibility.
• Certification in occupational health and safety, or completion of relevant training courses in safe material handling practices to reduce workplace incidents and improve safety compliance.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to support waste reduction initiatives and enhance overall production efficiency across the factory floor.
• Basic knowledge of environmental management systems, particularly waste segregation and recycling practices relevant to ceramic manufacturing to minimize ecological impact and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Previous exposure to tile or sanitary ware production lines, providing insight into specific raw material requirements and quality expectations to improve weighing accuracy and efficiency.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, to meet production schedules and maintain continuous plant operation while ensuring consistent quality output.
