The positions available include one Communications Officer, two Pharmacy Assistants, one Laboratory Technician, and two Laboratory Assistants. These roles are essential to ensuring smooth hospital operations, accurate medical testing, effective medication management, and clear internal and external communication. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication strategies to promote hospital services and health awareness in the community.
• Prepare press releases, newsletters, and social media content to engage stakeholders and disseminate health information.
• Coordinate internal communication between departments to ensure timely sharing of critical updates and announcements.
• Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate stock records.
• Provide patient counseling on proper medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects under supervision.
• Perform routine laboratory tests including hematology, biochemistry, and microbiology with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure reliable test results and compliance with quality standards.
• Collect, label, and process biological samples following established procedures to prevent contamination and ensure traceability.
• Support health outreach programs by preparing educational materials and participating in community health talks.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and comply with data protection policies in all professional activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in a healthcare, NGO, or public service environment.
• Proficiency in English and Acholi or Luo languages, both written and spoken, for effective community engagement.
• Computer literacy including MS Office, email, and basic data management systems relevant to the role.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced, resource-limited setting.
• Valid registration with the relevant professional council where applicable (e.g., Allied Health Professionals Council).

Desirable

• Previous experience working in a mission hospital or rural healthcare setting in Northern Uganda.
• Knowledge of health management information systems (HMIS) or electronic medical records (EMR) platforms.
• Training in infection prevention, biomedical waste management, or laboratory safety protocols.
• Experience in health education, community mobilization, or public speaking engagements.
• Familiarity with supply chain management principles for pharmaceuticals or medical consumables.
• Certificate in monitoring and evaluation or project coordination from a recognized training program.
