Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests warmly upon arrival and escorting them to their designated seating areas with professionalism and grace.
• Taking accurate food and beverage orders from customers and relaying them efficiently to the kitchen and bar staff.
• Serving meals and drinks to tables in a timely manner while ensuring all items are presented neatly and correctly.
• Checking in on seated guests periodically to address any additional requests, refills, or concerns they may have.
• Maintaining clean and organized dining areas, including wiping down tables, restocking napkins, and clearing used dishes promptly.
• Processing payments accurately at the point of sale, handling cash and card transactions with absolute security and precision.
• Adhering to strict personal hygiene and grooming standards to meet our high health and safety compliance requirements.
• Collaborating closely with fellow servers, bartenders, and hosts to ensure seamless service delivery during busy shifts.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing hospitality role, preferably within a restaurant, club, or hotel setting in Uganda.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to interact effectively with diverse clientele and team members.
• Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the operational demands of our venue.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, energetic attitude that fosters a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
• Basic understanding of food service protocols, table setting standards, and general etiquette expected in upscale venues.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment without compromising the quality of service.

Desirable

• Prior experience working in a high-volume nightclub or lounge environment within Kampala or surrounding areas.
• Knowledge of basic mixology or wine pairing to assist in recommending beverages to enhance the dining experience.
• Certification in food safety, hospitality management, or completion of a vocational training course in the service industry.
• Fluency in Luganda or other local Ugandan languages to better connect with a broader spectrum of local patrons.
• Previous training in conflict resolution or customer recovery techniques to handle difficult situations with poise.
