Job Overview

Masheda Foods is seeking a reliable and experienced Dispatch Rider to join our growing logistics team in Uganda. This role is critical to our supply chain operations, ensuring that goods, documents, and supplies reach supermarkets, clients, and company branches in a timely and secure manner. As a Dispatch Rider, you will be the face of our company on the road, representing our brand with professionalism and efficiency. The position is based in Uganda and requires a deep understanding of local routes, traffic patterns, and delivery protocols. You will operate a motorcycle, commonly known as a boda boda, to transport various items across the city and surrounding areas. This is a full-time position that offers stability and the opportunity to grow within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect goods, documents, and supplies from the warehouse or office for delivery to designated locations.
• Ensure safe handling and transportation of products to prevent damage, loss, or spoilage during transit.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, obtain customer signatures, and submit proof of delivery upon completion.
• Adhere to traffic regulations and safety standards while operating a motorcycle in busy urban environments.
• Communicate effectively with clients, supermarkets, and branch staff to coordinate delivery schedules.
• Report any issues, delays, or incidents immediately to the logistics coordinator for prompt resolution.
• Perform routine checks on the motorcycle to ensure it is in good working condition before each delivery run.
• Handle cash payments or collect receipts from customers as required by the company’s billing procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• O-Level Certificate or equivalent educational background demonstrating basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Valid motorcycle riding permit or license issued by the Ugandan authorities, showing legal authorization to operate a boda boda.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a dispatch rider, courier, or delivery agent in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Proven knowledge of Kampala city layout, including major roads, shortcuts, and traffic-prone areas during peak hours.
• Experience working in the food distribution or retail supply chain sector, understanding perishable goods handling requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients ranging from supermarket managers to residential customers.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor repairs or identify motorcycle issues before they escalate on the road.
