Q-Sourcing Uganda

Job Overview

Q-Sourcing Uganda is a leading provider of telecommunications and ICT solutions across East Africa, partnering with global vendors locally to deliver innovative services. The Account Manager position sits within the Enterprise sales team, focusing on mid‑sized business clients who require reliable connectivity and tailored solutions.

In this role you will act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building trust and understanding each client’s business challenges daily. You will collaborate with internal teams to design proposals that align with customer goals while driving revenue growth and ensuring satisfaction.

The Account Manager is measured against monthly recurring order value and incremental revenue targets, participating in the Enterprise Sales Incentive Plan today. Success depends on proactive account planning, regular stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate technical features into clear business value for medium‑sized enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage current and prospective customers at management level to understand their business strategy, key drivers, and upcoming initiatives affecting telecom needs and future market demands.
  • Develop detailed customer roadmaps outlining progression steps for fixed and mobile network services, business solutions, and value‑added offerings toward contract closure with new and existing.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned account targets by selling core valued products, add‑on services, and an optimal strategic portfolio mix across existing and new customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong multi‑functional relationships with customer stakeholders including business owners, finance, IT management, supply chain, marketing, HR, and VIP users to foster partnerships.
  • Create innovative solutions that deliver measurable business value, demonstrating how network stability, coverage, customer service, and value‑added offerings meet client objectives, expectations and ongoing needs.
  • Position executive sponsors effectively for productive bi‑annual and annual customer reviews, ensuring solutions align with evolving industry trends and changing business needs and technological advancements.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis to identify market trends, spot opportunities for cost reduction, technology refresh, improved operational efficiency, and strategic competitive advantage for account retention.
  • Act swiftly to prevent revenue erosion caused by competitor activity, proposing retention strategies and alternative service packages that protect long‑term account profitability and customer loyalty.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field from a recognised university with academic performance and potential.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in account management, sales, or client service within the ICT, telecommunications, or technology sectors in fast‑growing multinational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales quotas, grow account revenue, and maintain long‑term relationships with mid‑sized business clients through strategic account planning.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly to both business and technical stakeholders, and non‑technical audience daily effectively.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office tools for tracking activities, managing pipelines, and generating reports, plus data analysis visualization.
  • Willingness to travel within Uganda as required to meet clients, attend industry events, and support regional sales initiatives nationwide for brand awareness.

Desirable

  • Experience with fixed line, mobile, broadband, or cloud‑based services and understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure and networking fundamentals.
  • Certification in sales methodologies such as SPIN, Challenger, MEDDIC, or Solution Selling is considered advantageous.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing telecommunications in Uganda, including UCC licensing and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with data‑driven sales forecasting techniques, predictive analytics, and pipeline management tools to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Experience in managing cross‑functional projects that involve technical teams, finance, procurement, and legal departments to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in a local Ugandan language (e.g., Luganda, Swahili) to enhance communication with diverse client bases.

What the Role Offers

  • Competitive monthly salary complemented by performance‑based bonuses that reward quarterly and annual achievement of assigned account targets.
  • Comprehensive health insurance plan covering outpatient, inpatient, maternity, and dental care for employees and their registered dependents.
  • Monthly transport and lunch allowances, plus housing assistance or rent subsidy for employees relocating to Kampala or other designated duty stations.
  • Ongoing professional development through sponsored training programs, industry certifications, mentorship, and clear career progression pathways within Q‑Sourcing Uganda.
  • Employee wellness initiatives including gym access, counseling services, and team‑building activities aimed at promoting work‑life balance and job satisfaction.
