Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities encompass managing the hotel’s technology infrastructure, ensuring network security, and supporting daily operations. The IT Officer collaborates with various departments to maintain seamless system integration and deliver reliable technology services to guests and staff.
- Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the hotel’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless access points, switches, and routers to ensure constant connectivity.
- Manage and update the Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) terminals, and related software to ensure accurate data synchronization and minimal downtime.
- Support guest internet services by monitoring bandwidth, resolving connectivity issues, and coordinating with ISPs to provide reliable Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel premises.
- Perform regular hardware maintenance on servers, workstations, printers, and other IT equipment, including cleaning, component replacement, and performance tuning to extend device lifespan.
- Implement and maintain data security measures such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, and user access controls to protect sensitive hotel and guest information.
- Assist in training hotel staff on new technology tools, create user guides, and provide helpdesk support to resolve everyday IT queries.
- Conduct periodic audits of IT assets, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure compliance with hotel data protection policies and industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should possess a solid foundation in information technology, combined with practical experience in managing or hospitality environments. The ideal applicant will demonstrate both technical expertise and strong interpersonal abilities.
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum two years of experience as an IT officer, system administrator, or similar role within a hotel, resort, or large office environment.
- Proven knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and experience configuring switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) software, ability to perform basic troubleshooting and user support for these platforms.
Desirable
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals are advantageous.
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V, and managing virtual servers in a production environment.
- Background in implementing or upgrading hotel-specific systems such as key card access, CCTV integration, or energy management systems.
- Strong documentation skills, including creating network diagrams, inventory lists, and standard operating procedures for IT operations.
