Job Overview

True North Uganda is seeking a strategic and data-driven Head of Revenue and Market Planning to lead the analytics wing of Group Marketing. This pivotal role is based in Kampala and focuses on driving revenue performance, forecasting accuracy, and market expansion strategies across 16 African markets. The successful candidate will leverage specialized analytical tools and deep market knowledge to ensure the organization meets its top-line objectives. You will report directly to the Marketing Director and play a key role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory across the continent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly and monthly revenue performance updates with actionable recommendations for underperforming areas.
  • Conduct PCN reviews and approvals to ensure alignment with revenue goals and market conditions.
  • Drive understanding of linkages between market research indicators and revenue and RMS performance metrics.
  • Take full responsibility for the delivery of the annual revenue budget and drive forecasting accuracy in monthly flash reports.
  • Develop and enforce site roll-out guidelines while tracking site performance post-launch across all regions.
  • Evaluate marketing business case viability for new product launches and pan-African business initiatives for Go/no-Go decisions.
  • Conduct external CMS and RMS benchmarking alongside detailed monthly internal KPI benchmarking for revenue, S&D, and marketing opex across 16 OpCos.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Marketing, or a related quantitative field from a recognized university.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in revenue analytics, market planning, or strategic pricing within a multi-market or pan-African business environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate revenue forecasts and budgets, with demonstrated ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced Excel, SQL, and at least one data visualization tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex data to executive-level audiences.

Desirable

  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, MBA, or a related field is highly desirable for candidates seeking strategic leadership roles.
  • Experience working in the telecommunications, FMCG, or financial services sector across African markets is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with market research tools such as Nielsen, Kantar, or similar platforms used for competitive intelligence and consumer insights.
  • Certification in data science, predictive analytics, or project management (PMP) to enhance analytical rigor and delivery capability.
