Job Overview

ETG Group is seeking a Junior Digital Compliance & Traceability Officer to join its Uganda coffee operations based at the Namanve warehouse in Kampala. This role is critical in ensuring that all farmer, plot, and supply-chain data meets international regulatory standards, including EUDR compliance and certification requirements. The position serves as the operational bridge between field teams, technology partners, and global compliance functions, ensuring that digital systems support transparent and responsible coffee sourcing across ETG’s network of over 20,000 registered farmers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage digital farmer registration systems to ensure complete and accurate data capture across all supplier networks.
  • Support geospatial mapping initiatives by validating plot coordinates and verifying deforestation risks through digital tools.
  • Administer traceability platforms that track coffee flows from farm to export, maintaining end-to-end supply chain visibility.
  • Conduct regular data validation checks to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with EUDR due diligence requirements.
  • Provide user training and support to office and field teams on digital compliance tools and traceability software.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to improve system functionality and implement process improvements for data quality.
  • Generate compliance reports and sustainability documentation for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update operational procedures to maintain alignment with evolving international standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Geography, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field with strong data management focus.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in digital compliance, data management, GIS mapping, or supply chain traceability within agricultural or export trading environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel with advanced data analysis capabilities, and experience with database management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to validate large datasets and identify discrepancies for resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with ability to train non-technical users on digital platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments while meeting tight regulatory deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience with GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar geospatial mapping tools used in agricultural compliance.
  • Familiarity with EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) requirements and due diligence frameworks for agricultural commodities.
  • Previous exposure to coffee supply chains, certification schemes (Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, Organic), or sustainability reporting in East Africa.
  • Certification in data analytics, project management, or compliance auditing from recognized institutions.
  • Working knowledge of French would be an asset given ETG’s global operations and regulatory interactions.

What the Role Offers

  • Competitive salary package with performance-based bonuses tied to compliance milestones and data quality achievements.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage including medical, dental, and vision benefits for employee and immediate family members.
  • Transport allowance and daily lunch provision provided at the Namanve warehouse facility during working hours.
  • Professional development opportunities including training on international compliance standards, GIS technologies, and regulatory updates.
  • Dynamic work environment within a global organization with 7,000+ employees across 48 countries, offering potential for career growth and international exposure.
  • Supportive team structure with regular mentorship from senior compliance specialists and technology partners.
