Job Overview

eTranzact Platform Ltd, a leading African financial technology company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Treasury Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This pivotal leadership role will involve driving financial inclusion, enhancing digital banking experiences, and providing secure, efficient platforms for businesses and individuals. The Treasury Manager will report directly to the Board of Directors and serve as the face of business development and operations in Uganda. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in fintech and financial services to ensure optimal financial health, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support for business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash flows, including forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing liquidity to meet operational needs and investment opportunities.
• Develop and implement treasury policies, procedures, and strategies to mitigate financial risks, such as interest rate, foreign exchange, and credit risks.
• Oversee banking relationships, negotiate terms for financial services, and ensure efficient use of banking platforms and fintech tools for transactions.
• Prepare accurate financial reports, including cash position analysis, liquidity forecasts, and risk exposure assessments for executive review.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and executive teams to manage financial resources effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set by the Bank of Uganda and other relevant financial authorities.
• Support business growth initiatives by providing strategic financial advice and liquidity solutions for new product launches and market expansions.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in treasury management, cash management, or financial planning within a fintech, banking, or corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and risk mitigation techniques in the context of digital financial services.
• Proven track record of managing banking relationships and negotiating favorable terms for financial services and credit facilities.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

Desirable

• Master’s degree in Finance, MBA, or a related field would be an added advantage.
• Certification such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) credentials.
• Experience working in a Pan-African fintech environment or with digital payment platforms.
• Familiarity with Ugandan financial regulations, tax laws, and the local banking landscape.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling software, and treasury management systems.
