Job Overview

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is recruiting a Personal Assistant to provide dedicated executive support to senior leadership within its Kampala office. This role sits within the firm’s business services and support function, the backbone that keeps partners, directors and engagement teams focused on client delivery.

The successful candidate will manage complex diaries, prepare high quality correspondence, coordinate cross border meetings and act as a trusted gatekeeper for confidential information. You will work closely with senior executives across assurance, tax and advisory, gaining exposure to a wide range of corporate and institutional clients operating in Uganda and the wider East African market.

PwC expects every member of its support teams to deliver work of a high standard, build relationships quickly and maintain composure in a fast paced, international professional services environment. If you are organised, curious and enjoy anticipating the needs of busy leaders, this position offers an excellent platform to grow within a globally respected brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate complex calendars for multiple senior executives, including meetings, travel and client engagements across time zones.
  • Prepare, proofread and format high quality correspondence, presentations, reports and meeting packs in line with PwC brand standards.
  • Coordinate logistics for conferences, workshops, trainings and partner visits, including venue booking, catering and materials preparation.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion, acting as a reliable gatekeeper for executives and stakeholders.
  • Organise international and domestic travel arrangements, including itineraries, visas, accommodation and expense reconciliation.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth information flow, follow up on action items and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Apply a learning mindset, share best practices and contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment across the business.
  • Support ad hoc projects, events and firmwide initiatives as requested by leadership, often with limited supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, secretarial studies, communications, management or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • A minimum of three to five years’ experience providing executive or senior management support within a professional services, corporate or multinational environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft polished correspondence and adapt tone for different audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive partner, client and firm information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with the willingness to learn internal PwC systems.

Desirable

  • Previous exposure to a global professional services firm, Big Four environment or similar fast paced corporate setting in Uganda.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating international travel and complex diary management across multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of additional languages commonly used in East Africa, such as Luganda or Swahili, to support regional engagement.
  • Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools, document management systems and basic expense or invoice processing workflows.
  • A recognised secretarial or office administration qualification from a reputable institute, such as the Institute of Certified Secretaries.

What the Role Offers

  • Competitive salary package benchmarked against leading professional services employers in the Ugandan market.
  • Comprehensive medical and group life insurance cover for the employee and eligible dependents.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement, public holidays and structured wellness days to support work life balance.
  • Access to structured learning programmes, mentoring and clear career pathways within the PwC global network.
  • A collaborative, inclusive office culture in central Kampala with modern facilities, lunch provisions and transport support.
