Job Overview

Prudential Uganda is seeking a motivated Salesperson to join their growing team in Kampala. This full-time position focuses on selling life health and savings insurance products to individual and corporate clients across Uganda. The role offers an opportunity to build a career in the financial services sector with a globally recognized brand.

As a Salesperson you will be responsible for identifying prospective clients understanding their financial protection needs and presenting suitable Prudential insurance solutions. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills persistence and a customer-focused approach to sales.

The position is based at Prudential Uganda’s offices at Zebra Plaza Plot 23 Kampala Road. Working hours are standard full time from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday with occasional flexibility required for client meetings outside regular hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect for new clients through networking referrals and market research activities.
  • Conduct in-person meetings and presentations to explain Prudential’s life health and savings insurance products.
  • Follow up consistently on leads and maintain an active sales pipeline to ensure steady business flow.
  • Achieve individual monthly and quarterly sales targets aligned with team and company objectives.
  • Prepare accurate insurance proposals and complete customer documentation with attention to detail.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and Insurance Regulatory Authority guidelines.
  • Collaborate with customer service marketing and operations teams to enhance client experience.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships through regular follow-ups and excellent service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum Diploma in Business Marketing Finance or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in sales preferably in insurance banking or financial services sectors.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve sales goals.
  • Valid Ugandan national ID and eligibility to work in Uganda without restrictions.

Desirable

  • Previous experience selling life health or investment insurance products.
  • Knowledge of Uganda’s insurance market regulatory environment and customer preferences.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and digital tools for sales tracking and reporting.
  • Additional language skills such as Luganda or Swahili for broader client engagement.
  • Certification in insurance sales or financial planning from a recognized professional body.
