You will be the guardian of our inventory accuracy, directly impacting our ability to fulfill customer orders and maintain operational efficiency in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels across all warehouse locations, ensuring real-time visibility of available inventory for sales and procurement teams.
  • Conduct regular stocktakes and cycle counts to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize shrinkage and errors.
  • Manage the receipt of goods from suppliers, verify quantities and quality against purchase orders, and update inventory systems with precise receiving documentation.
  • Coordinate internal stock movements between warehouses or departments, ensuring proper documentation, safe handling, and timely transfer of electronic components and finished goods.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports, including aging analysis, stock turnover ratios, and slow-moving items, to provide actionable insights for inventory optimization and purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to maintain optimal stock levels, preventing stockouts of high-demand items while avoiding overstocking of slow-moving products.
  • Ensure strict adherence to warehouse safety protocols, proper storage procedures for electronic goods, and compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and inventory variances, preparing detailed reports and coordinating with relevant departments to implement preventive measures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in stock control, warehouse management, or inventory management within a retail, electronics, or FMCG environment, demonstrating practical application of inventory optimization techniques.
  • Proven experience with inventory management software and ERP systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and inventory tracking purposes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Certification in inventory management or warehouse operations, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar credentials, indicating advanced knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Experience working with electronics or technology products, understanding the unique storage requirements, handling procedures, and inventory challenges associated with electronic components and devices.
  • Familiarity with Ugandan tax regulations and customs procedures related to imported electronic goods, ensuring compliance with local import/export requirements and documentation.
  • Leadership experience managing warehouse teams or supervising inventory projects, demonstrating ability to train staff, improve processes, and foster collaborative working relationships.

What the Role Offers

  • Competitive monthly salary ranging from USh 1,000,000 to 1,500,000, reflecting your experience and qualifications while providing a stable income in Uganda’s current market conditions.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage including medical, dental, and vision benefits, ensuring access to quality healthcare services for you and your immediate family members.
  • Company-provided housing allowance or accommodation support, addressing one of the significant living expenses for professionals working in Uganda’s major urban centers.
  • Transportation benefits including a monthly transport allowance or company vehicle access, reducing commuting costs and ensuring reliable access to work locations across the city.
  • Meals and refreshments provided during working hours, along with annual leave entitlements and paid sick leave, supporting work-life balance and overall wellbeing.
