Reporting directly to the Partners, the incumbent oversees accounting, treasury, procurement, asset management and general administration. This role is essential for strengthening liquidity, improving cost discipline and delivering accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
The Finance and Administration Manager is responsible for a broad range of financial and administrative functions that keep the organization running smoothly. Below are the core duties expected of this position.
This role demands a proactive approach to financial stewardship, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and risks are mitigated. The manager will work closely with department heads to align strategic financial plans with operational goals.
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements and board finance packs, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Develop annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts and liquidity dashboards; perform variance analysis and advise senior management on financial performance.
- Strengthen treasury controls, oversee payment processing, payroll administration, tax filings and NSSF contributions, and coordinate external audits.
- Enforce procurement policies, manage supplier relationships, maintain stores and inventory, and ensure proper insurance coverage, facilities upkeep and asset safeguarding.
- Support contract pricing, profitability analysis and cost optimisation initiatives; identify savings opportunities and drive turnaround projects.
- Improve accounting systems, implement access controls, maintain audit trails and monitor team performance to enhance productivity and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must possess a solid academic background in finance or accounting, coupled with proven experience in managerial roles. The following sections outline the essential and desirable criteria for this position.
Essential
Essential qualifications are the minimum requirements that applicants must meet to be considered for the role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field from a recognised university.
- Full CPA Uganda qualification is preferred; alternatively, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting certification is acceptable.
- Minimum seven years of relevant experience, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity overseeing finance or administration functions.
- Strong working knowledge of Ugandan tax legislation, VAT, PAYE and NSSF regulations, plus experience preparing statutory returns and liaising with tax authorities.
Desirable
Desirable attributes will strengthen a candidate’s application and may lead to preferential consideration.
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally Prime, QuickBooks or Sage, including advanced Excel skills for financial modelling.
- Prior exposure to field operations, project costing or turnaround management in a fast-growing SME environment.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff, drive process improvements and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
The position is based in Kampala with occasional travel to upcountry offices as required. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with flexibility for urgent financial close periods.
