Job Overview

Working closely with product managers, developers broader experience design team, the UI Designer will translate business requirements into polished prototypes. Key Responsibilities
In this role you will partner with cross‑functional teams to design, test and refine user interfaces that align with Stanbic Bank’s brand and digital strategy.
- Collaborate with product owners to gather and analyse user requirements for new banking features.
- Create wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes using industry‑standard design tools such as Figma and Sketch.
- Conduct usability testing sessions with customers and iterate designs based on feedback and analytics.
- Develop UI component libraries that ensure consistency across web, mobile and tablet platforms.
- Stay updated on emerging UI trends and integrate best practices into the bank’s design system.
- Assist developers in implementing designs, providing detailed specifications and assets for accurate delivery.
- Participate in design sprints and contribute innovative ideas that improve customer engagement and satisfaction.
These responsibilities ensure that the UI Designer contributes directly to the bank’s goal of delivering seamless digital experiences that increase customer satisfaction and drive adoption of new banking products across Uganda.
By working closely with developers, product managers and end‑users, the UI Designer ensures that every interface is both technically feasible and aligned with user expectations, resulting in higher engagement and reduced support costs.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should possess a solid educational foundation in design or a related field, coupled with hands‑on experience in creating digital interfaces for financial or technology‑driven products.

- A bachelor’s degree in Information Studies, Graphic Design, Human‑Computer Interaction or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of three to four years of professional experience in user interface design, interaction design or UI/UX roles.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD and prototyping platforms.
- Strong understanding of user‑centred design principles, design thinking methodologies and usability testing processes.
- Ability to produce design concepts, wireframes and high‑fidelity prototypes that meet brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
