Key Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms according to client specifications including tables, chairs, linens, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Break down event spaces efficiently after functions, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and areas are clean.
  • Transport supplies and equipment between storage areas and event venues using proper lifting techniques.
  • Greet guests professionally upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements or special requests throughout the event.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately, relaying information to kitchen and bar staff in a timely manner.
  • Monitor event spaces during functions to anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service.
  • Process payments for additional services and handle cash transactions according to hotel policies.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely delivery of courses and accommodate dietary requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including side stations and storage rooms.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols when moving equipment or handling potentially hazardous materials.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required for consideration for this position.
  • Less than one year of related work experience in hospitality, events, or customer service is acceptable.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or move continuously for extended periods during shifts is essential.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor must be maintained at all times while representing the brand.
  • Basic English communication skills are necessary for interacting with guests and team members.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in hotel banquets, catering, or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of proper table setting techniques and event setup procedures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems used for food and beverage ordering is helpful.
  • Experience working in a team environment where coordination and communication are key.
  • Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation principles in a hospitality setting.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
