Job Overview
AS ONE Ministries Uganda Company Limited seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join their healthcare team in Namutumba Community. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide Christ-centered nursing care while supporting clinical operations. The role begins in January 2027 and requires a commitment to professional excellence and compassionate service.
As a Registered Nurse, you will work closely with the Clinical Officer to deliver safe and competent care to patients. Your responsibilities will encompass clinical duties, patient education, and community health initiatives. This position is ideal for a nurse passionate about integrating faith with healthcare practice in a Ugandan community setting.
The successful candidate will uphold the standards set by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council while contributing to the ministry’s holistic approach to patient care. You will be part of a team committed to serving the physical and spiritual needs of the community through quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive triage and assess patients prioritizing care based on urgency and severity of their condition upon arrival at the clinic.
- Take and record vital signs patient histories and clinical observations accurately maintaining proper documentation standards.
- Administer medications injections immunizations and treatments as prescribed by the Clinical Officer or Medical Officer following all protocols.
- Provide wound care dressing changes and other basic clinical procedures ensuring infection control and patient comfort.
- Support antenatal postnatal child health immunization and family planning services delivering comprehensive reproductive health care.
- Assist in emergency care and stabilization of patients escalating and referring cases appropriately when higher level intervention is needed.
- Monitor patients progress and response to treatment reporting any changes promptly to the Clinical Officer for timely intervention.
- Educate patients and caregivers on health promotion disease prevention and management of chronic conditions using appropriate teaching methods.
- Participate in community outreach programs extending healthcare services beyond the clinic walls to underserved populations.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized clinical environment adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Minimum of two years practical experience working as a Registered Nurse in a clinical or community health setting.
- Current valid practicing license issued by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council allowing legal practice in Uganda.
- Proficiency in English both written and spoken to effectively communicate with patients colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to work full-time hours from 8am to 5pm demonstrating reliability and commitment to the role schedule.
- Willingness to be based in Namutumba Community Uganda serving the local population with dedication and cultural sensitivity.
Desirable
- Additional certification in midwifery or community health nursing enhancing ability to serve maternal and child health needs.
- Experience working in faith-based or NGO healthcare settings understanding the unique dynamics of ministry-driven medical service.
- Knowledge of local languages spoken in Namutumba area improving communication with elderly patients and community members.
- Training in HIV/AIDS care tuberculosis management or malaria treatment addressing prevalent health concerns in the region.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems or willingness to learn digital documentation tools used in modern clinics.
- Previous involvement in health education programs or community wellness initiatives demonstrating preventive care passion.
