Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, safe, and patient-centered medical care to individuals and families across various age groups.
  • Conduct thorough patient consultations, including detailed assessments, accurate diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment and management plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs and medical history.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on clinical response and evolving health status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patient encounters, ensuring compliance with healthcare documentation standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ethical standards in all aspects of medical practice.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Valid medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized university, with current registration to practice medicine in Uganda.
  • Minimum of two years post-internship clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, demonstrating consistent professional growth.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse medical cases independently while knowing when to seek specialist consultation or referral.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development through regular training and staying updated with medical advancements.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification or diploma in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or a related clinical specialty relevant to the role.
  • Previous experience working in a growing healthcare facility or similar environment that values innovation and service expansion.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential through involvement in team mentoring, training junior staff, or leading small clinical projects.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and basic healthcare management software for efficient practice operations.
  • Experience in community health outreach programs or preventive care initiatives that promote public health awareness.
