Case Clinic is expanding its dental services across multiple locations in Uganda and seeking skilled Dentists to join our growing team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in modern facilities at our Kira, Bweyogerere and Jinja clinics. As a Dentist at Case Clinic, you will be responsible for diagnosing oral health conditions, performing preventive and restorative procedures, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices. The role requires clinical expertise combined with strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with patients of all ages. You will work collaboratively with dental assistants, hygienists and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive oral examinations including visual inspections, periodontal assessments and radiographic evaluations to diagnose dental conditions accurately.
• Perform restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges and denture fittings using modern dental materials and techniques to restore function and aesthetics.
• Provide preventive dental care including cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and oral hygiene instruction to help patients maintain optimal oral health.
• Diagnose and treat periodontal disease through scaling, root planing and maintenance therapies while educating patients on gum health management.
• Perform tooth extractions including simple and surgical removals when necessary, ensuring patient comfort and proper post-operative care instructions.
• Manage dental emergencies such as abscesses, trauma and severe pain with prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment to alleviate suffering.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records including treatment plans, progress notes and medical histories in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with dental specialists for complex cases requiring orthodontic, endodontic or oral surgical interventions through proper referral pathways.
• Participate in community outreach programs to promote oral health awareness and provide basic dental screenings in underserved areas of Uganda.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols including sterilization procedures, personal protective equipment use and environmental disinfection standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent degree from a recognized university with current registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in general dentistry demonstrating proficiency in restorative, preventive and basic surgical procedures.
• Valid practicing license issued by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council allowing independent dental practice within Uganda.
• Strong clinical skills in diagnosis, treatment planning and execution of common dental procedures with attention to detail and patient safety.
• Excellent communication abilities to explain dental conditions and treatment options clearly to patients from diverse linguistic and educational backgrounds.
• Commitment to ethical dental practice including patient confidentiality, informed consent and adherence to professional codes of conduct.

Desirable

• Additional certification in specialized areas such as endodontics, periodontics or pediatric dentistry obtained through recognized postgraduate training programs.
• Experience working in multi-clinic healthcare environments with exposure to different patient demographics and healthcare delivery systems.
• Proficiency in dental practice management software for scheduling, billing and electronic health records to improve clinic operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of public health dentistry principles and experience participating in community dental outreach or school-based dental programs.
• Ability to mentor and supervise dental interns or junior colleagues contributing to skills development and knowledge transfer within the dental team.
• Fluency in local Ugandan languages such as Luganda, Luo or Runyankole alongside English to enhance patient communication and comfort.
