  • Support the administration of company email systems, user accounts, and access permissions under senior guidance.
  • Monitor IT inventory, track assigned equipment, and report any loss, damage, or required replacements promptly.
  • Help maintain data backup routines, cybersecurity awareness, and basic system documentation for the IT unit.
  • Troubleshoot internet, LAN, and VPN connectivity problems to minimise downtime for operational teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers when escalations, repairs, or new equipment purchases are required.
  • Prepare simple reports on helpdesk tickets, system uptime, and ongoing IT projects for management review.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum CGPA of 4.0 and above on the Ugandan university grading scale, reflecting a strong academic record.
  • Demonstrated passion for excellence and a clear willingness to learn new technologies within the energy industry.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and common office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical issues to non technical users.
  • Must be a Ugandan citizen or hold valid documentation permitting full time employment within Uganda.

Desirable

  • Internship or attachment experience in an IT department, helpdesk, or technology startup environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, or basic cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, data protection principles, and IT policy compliance in Uganda.
  • Exposure to industrial IT environments, including SCADA basics, is an added advantage for the energy sector.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CCNA, or ITIL Foundation can strengthen a candidate’s application profile.
