  • Perform root-cause analysis of identified issues and recommend practical corrective actions to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and dashboards that provide clear audit opinions, actionable recommendations, and tracking mechanisms for issue remediation.
  • Champion data analytics and continuous auditing initiatives to enhance audit effectiveness, support automation, and address emerging digital risks.
  • Supervise and coach audit resources, provide constructive performance feedback, and foster a high-performance audit culture within the team.
  • Coordinate with assurance functions, management, committees, and regulators to maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure comprehensive risk coverage.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in internal auditing, risk management, or compliance within a financial services or corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Ugandan regulatory frameworks, financial reporting standards, and internal control best practices.
  • Proven experience in leading audit teams, managing audit projects, and delivering high-quality audit reports to senior management and audit committees.

Desirable

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a multinational corporation or regional financial services institution.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools such as ACL, IDEA, or Power BI for continuous auditing initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex audit findings to non-financial stakeholders.

What the Role Offers
