Job Overview

Stanbic Bank Uganda, the largest bank in the country by assets and branch network, is seeking a dedicated Executive Banker to join its customer service team in Kampala. This role is pivotal in fostering strong relationships with high-value clients and driving the bank’s growth in the Executive Banking segment. You will be the primary point of contact, offering tailored banking solutions to meet the unique needs of each customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively promote a relationship-based offering by serving as the dedicated and primary point of contact for customers in the Executive Banking segment.
• Acquire and open new accounts while cross-selling additional products and services by identifying and referring sales leads to other business stakeholders.
• Conduct a thorough financial needs analysis with all new and existing customers to ensure identified product opportunities are appropriate and meet their priorities.
• Educate customers on lending application processes including vehicle finance, home loans, overdraft, credit card, and personal loans, along with credit maintenance and account conduct expectations.
• Establish, build, and strengthen relationships with customers based on mutual respect to retain customers and gain valuable word-of-mouth referrals.
• Grow the Executive Banking new to bank customers, balance sheet, and income statements in line with business strategic objectives through responsible lending practices.
• Proactively manage the portfolio to maximize revenue for the bank by referring to fees, margins, and sales while minimizing costs and risks.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service, sales, or banking roles, preferably within a corporate or executive banking environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Excellent analytical abilities to conduct financial needs assessments and identify appropriate product solutions for clients.

Desirable

• Relevant professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar banking qualifications.
• Experience working in a fast-paced banking environment with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Fluency in Swahili in addition to English to effectively communicate with a diverse client base.
