CIO-CXO Digital Leadership Forum
Job Overview
The CIO-CXO Digital Leadership Forum is seeking a dynamic Membership & Programs Officer to drive member recruitment, engagement, and program coordination in Kampala. This role sits at the heart of Uganda’s premier community of CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and digital transformation leaders. You will work directly with senior technology executives, government agencies, and development partners to advance the national digital agenda through strategic membership growth and high-impact convenings. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of technology leadership in Uganda while building a vibrant, connected professional network.
The Forum operates at the intersection of technology strategy, executive development, and policy advocacy. As the Membership & Programs Officer, you will be the frontline ambassador responsible for translating the Forum’s vision into tangible member value and seamless program execution. This is not an administrative support role; it is a strategic position requiring relationship-building skills, project coordination expertise, and a genuine passion for Uganda’s digital transformation journey. You will report directly to the Executive Director and collaborate closely with the Programs Lead, Marketing Manager, and external partners to ensure the Forum’s activities deliver maximum impact for members and stakeholders alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive membership recruitment by identifying and engaging prospective members including senior technology leaders, C-suite executives, and digital transformation practitioners across government, private sector, and development partners.
- Develop and execute comprehensive member onboarding workflows that include welcome packages, profile collection, document verification, and initial orientation sessions to ensure new members understand Forum benefits and opportunities.
- Coordinate regular member communications through newsletters, event announcements, policy updates, and exclusive invitations to maintain high engagement levels and demonstrate ongoing value.
- Manage the membership database and CRM system to maintain accurate records of renewals, participation history, benefit usage, and communication preferences while ensuring data security and compliance with Ugandan data protection regulations.
- Organize logistics for Forum convenings including thought leadership events, roundtable discussions, policy dialogues, and executive networking sessions covering venue coordination, speaker management, and attendee experience.
- Design and implement member visibility initiatives such as spotlight features, success stories, testimonials, and case studies that showcase member achievements and reinforce the Forum’s reputation as a thought leadership platform.
- Monitor membership metrics including acquisition rates, retention percentages, engagement scores, and program attendance to provide data-driven insights for strategic decision-making and continuous improvement of member services.
- Liaise with external partners, sponsors, and government agencies to secure collaborative opportunities, funding arrangements, and policy advocacy initiatives that enhance member value and expand the Forum’s influence in Uganda’s digital ecosystem.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ugandan university or equivalent international institution.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in membership management, customer success, program coordination, or stakeholder engagement roles within professional associations, NGOs, or corporate environments in Uganda.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Luganda, with demonstrated ability to engage effectively with C-suite executives, government officials, and diverse stakeholder groups across Uganda’s digital landscape.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, and basic data analytics tools, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing complex membership databases and event logistics.
Desirable
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field from a recognized institution, demonstrating advanced strategic thinking and leadership capabilities.
- Proven track record of successfully growing membership bases, increasing retention rates, or delivering high-impact professional development programs within Ugandan technology, business, or policy sectors.
- Existing professional network within Uganda’s technology leadership community, including connections with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, government digital transformation officials, and development partners.
- Certification in project management, customer relationship management, or digital marketing platforms, along with experience utilizing data analytics tools to measure program effectiveness and member satisfaction.
What the Role Offers
- Competitive salary package with performance-based bonuses linked to membership growth targets and successful program delivery milestones, reflecting the strategic importance of this role within the organization.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage including medical, dental, and vision benefits for the employee and immediate family members, administered through a reputable Ugandan healthcare provider with nationwide coverage.
- Monthly transport allowance to cover commute costs within Kampala and surrounding areas, plus additional travel support for off-site events, member visits, and stakeholder meetings across Uganda.
- Professional development budget allocated annually for attending technology leadership conferences, executive education programs, and industry workshops, with priority given to events that enhance skills in digital transformation and membership engagement.
- Flexible working arrangement with hybrid model allowing remote work two days per week, plus generous annual leave entitlement of twenty-five days plus public holidays, supporting work-life balance for professionals managing high-stakes stakeholder relationships.
