Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust IT systems to support insurance operations across all departments and branches in Uganda.
• Ensure network security and data protection compliance for sensitive customer financial information and policyholder records.
• Provide technical support to staff members and troubleshoot hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Implement and monitor backup procedures to safeguard critical business data against loss or corruption.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and recommend cost-effective solutions for the Uganda market.
• Train end-users on new software applications and updates to maximize productivity and efficiency across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support or systems administration within a corporate environment.
• Strong technical skills in Windows Server administration, networking, and database management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills in English and Luganda to interact with diverse teams and clients across Uganda.

Desirable

• Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert would be an advantage.
• Experience working within the insurance or financial services industry in Uganda or East Africa.
• Familiarity with insurance-specific software systems and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements in Uganda.
• Knowledge of local internet service providers and telecommunications infrastructure in Uganda.
