Job Overview
The Operations Manager at Impartial World plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the company’s ICT-based services. Impartial World operates a mobile app and website functioning as an escrow manager for service providers and clients. The Operations Manager will be instrumental in maintaining service quality, managing stakeholder relationships, and supporting business growth through effective process implementation and oversight.
This full-time position demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding the company’s standards. The successful candidate will report directly to senior management and contribute to strategic decision-making while handling day-to-day operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily business activities to ensure operational efficiency and productivity across all departments.
- Manage company resources including personnel, technology, and financial assets to support business objectives.
- Coordinate between departments to facilitate smooth communication and workflow integration.
- Implement and monitor company policies to ensure compliance and consistent service delivery.
- Optimize business processes through analysis and implementation of improvements.
- Maintain public relations and media engagement to uphold the company’s reputation.
- Manage all Impartial World social media pages to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
- Coordinate all company events including internal meetings and external stakeholder engagements.
- Seek and establish partnerships with esteemed organizations to expand business opportunities.
- Manage the Impartial World database ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility.
- Ensure quality control by requiring users to set up correct profiles and accounts on the platform.
- Manage day-to-day activities of Impartial World including troubleshooting operational issues.
- Develop revenue and expenditure reports and budgets for financial planning and accountability.
- Coordinate external and internal stakeholders to align interests and drive collaborative outcomes.
- Compile weekly and monthly performance reports for management review and decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in operations management or a similar supervisory role.
- Proven ability to manage resources, coordinate teams, and implement operational policies effectively.
- Strong understanding of ICT-based services and digital platforms, particularly in escrow or transactional environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
- Proficiency in using business software including MS Office, project management tools, and data systems.
Desirable
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in the ICT, fintech, or digital services sector in Uganda or similar markets.
- Knowledge of escrow services, online transaction platforms, and digital trust mechanisms.
- Familiarity with Ugandan business regulations, data protection laws, and e-commerce frameworks.
- Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control within a service-oriented business.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or operations excellence methodologies.
