Fraud Analyst

Job Overview

SUN KING is seeking a dedicated Fraud Analyst to join their Corporate Risk department in Kampala. This role is critical in identifying and mitigating fraudulent activities that could impact the company’s operations and reputation. The Fraud Analyst will work closely with various teams to ensure comprehensive fraud prevention and response strategies are implemented effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating suspicious activities, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies. This position requires a proactive approach to fraud detection and a strong commitment to maintaining the integrity of SUN KING’s business operations in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and collect comprehensive information on fraud-related activities such as tampering, identity theft, impersonation, and scams within the business operations.
• Liaise effectively with the Field Team and Call Center to identify fraudulent cases and ensure proper follow-up procedures are executed for case closure.
• Collaborate with different law enforcement agencies to facilitate the closure of reported fraud and tampering cases through official channels.
• Prepare regular and detailed reports from the field on fraud-related activities, highlighting trends, patterns, and potential risks for strategic decision-making.
• Escalate critical fraud cases to senior management and relevant stakeholders promptly to ensure timely intervention and mitigation strategies are deployed.
• Conduct educational sessions and training programs for staff members to raise awareness about fraud, its impact on the business, and preventive measures.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Holder of a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, Security Studies, or Risk Management from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fraud analysis, criminal investigations, or a related role within a corporate or security environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly to diverse stakeholders and management teams.
• Strong people skills with the ability to build rapport, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and work under minimal supervision on complex tasks.

Desirable

• Relevant professional certification in Criminal Investigations, Fraud Management, Business Analytics, or a related field from an accredited organization.
• Proven track record of successful fraud case resolution and collaboration with law enforcement agencies in Uganda or similar jurisdictions.
• Experience using data analysis tools and software for fraud detection, pattern analysis, and report generation in a fast-paced environment.
