SAP Functional Specialist Jobs – Hariss International

Job Overview

Hariss International Limited, a leading food and beverage manufacturer in Uganda, is seeking a skilled SAP Functional Specialist to join its team in Kampala. This role is critical for maintaining and optimizing the company’s SAP systems across multiple core modules.

The successful candidate will serve as the bridge between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that SAP systems align with Hariss International’s operational goals. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, map, and document business processes to align with SAP best practices and ensure optimal system configuration.
• Customize SAP modules including FI/CO, HCM, MM, PP, PM, QA, SD, and SAP Analytics Cloud to meet specific business requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive unit testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing to validate system functionality before deployment.
• Prepare detailed functional specifications for developers and create comprehensive training materials for end-users across all departments.
• Provide ongoing user support, resolve system issues efficiently, and manage support tickets through proper channels.
• Collaborate closely with the SAP AMC vendor to deliver required solutions while ensuring all Service Level Agreements are consistently met.
• Monitor system performance metrics and take proactive corrective actions to maintain optimal operational efficiency.
• Update existing business process documentation regularly to maintain an accurate and current documented baseline for all SAP-related processes.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Management Information Systems from an accredited institution.
• Proven experience in SAP functional implementation or support within a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably in East Africa.
• Strong understanding of at least three core SAP modules from the Hariss portfolio, with preference for FI/CO, MM, or SD expertise.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and system configurations.

Desirable

• Official SAP certification in relevant modules such as FI, CO, MM, SD, or HCM from SAP Education or authorized training partners.
• Previous experience working with SAP Analytics Cloud and familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools.
• Degree in Finance or Accounting for candidates specializing in FICO modules, or Supply Chain background for MM/SD consultants.
• Experience working with SAP AMC vendors and managing vendor relationships to ensure SLA compliance in Ugandan market context.
