Drivers (3 Positions)

Job Overview

WWF Uganda Country Office is recruiting three qualified Drivers to support operations at its satellite offices in Kasese and Kagadi. The successful candidates will join a mission driven conservation organization committed to protecting nature and supporting communities across the Albertine region.

This role involves safely transporting staff, visitors and goods between satellite offices, while assisting with light administrative tasks and logistical support. The Drivers will uphold the highest standards for safety, professionalism and efficiency in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport staff and implementing partners in designated vehicles according to approved routes, schedules and organizational driving policies.
• Deliver supplies, parcels and project materials to agreed locations in a timely manner and support last mile delivery needs.
• Ensure sound mechanical condition of assigned vehicles through regular preventive maintenance checks and daily inspections.
• Notify the supervisor promptly of any required vehicle servicing, repairs or emerging mechanical concerns.
• Participate in loading and offloading of materials for office movements, events and field activities.
• Maintain accurate vehicle movement logs, fuel records and daily mileage reports for administrative review.
• Comply with traffic laws, organizational safety protocols and WWF Uganda security procedures at all times.
• Provide courteous logistical support to visiting teams, partners and consultants arriving at satellite offices.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a valid driving license classes B, C and DL.
• Defensive driving certificate from a recognized driving school or accredited training institution.
• Minimum of three years of clean driving experience with NGOs, government or reputable organizations.
• Sound knowledge of road networks, traffic regulations and routes within western Uganda.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting and inspection.
• Good communication skills in English and at least one local language spoken in the Albertine region.

Desirable

• Prior experience working with conservation, development or humanitarian organizations in remote areas.
• Familiarity with procurement and logistics procedures including delivery documentation and inventory.
• Training in first aid, basic vehicle mechanics or occupational safety practices.
• Residence in or willingness to relocate to Kasese or Kagadi districts.
• Knowledge of WWF Uganda field operations and conservation programmes in protected landscapes.
