Based in Kampala, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic digital marketing agency that serves SMEs, corporations, and non-profit organizations focused on social impact. The role requires handling daily financial transactions, managing vendor relationships, and preparing accurate financial reports while adhering to Ugandan tax and regulatory requirements. Candidates should possess strong numerical skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.

The Finance & Procurement Officer will play a key role in supporting the company’s growth by ensuring that financial resources are properly allocated and procurement processes deliver maximum value. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to expand their expertise in a fast-paced, innovative environment where attention to detail directly impacts organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily financial entries including invoice generation, client billing, and vendor payments for both Digimark Communications and Native Noise Ltd to ensure accurate financial recording.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, mobile money wallets, and petty cash ledgers on a weekly basis to maintain precise financial records and identify discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports, expense summaries, and cash flow statements for executive management review and strategic decision-making.
  • Track individual project budgets and departmental expenditures against approved limits, providing variance analysis and recommendations for cost control measures.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate calculations of deductions and timely remittance of statutory obligations including NSSF, PAYE, WHT, and VAT in compliance with Uganda Revenue Authority regulations.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes for office supplies, studio equipment, field logistics, and vendor services, including requisition approval and purchase order generation.
  • Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate competitive quotes from multiple vendors to achieve optimal cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards for all procured goods and services.
  • Maintain an updated and vetted supplier database, oversee contract administration, verify delivery of goods and services, and process vendor payments according to agreed terms.
  • Prepare and organize financial documentation for internal audits and external compliance reviews, acting as the primary liaison between the company and auditors or regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and control petty cash requisitions, ensuring proper authorization, documentation, and reconciliation of all small-scale expenditures across both business entities.

  • Strong working knowledge of Ugandan tax laws including VAT, PAYE, NSSF, and WHT regulations, with experience in statutory remittance preparation and filing.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail, demonstrated through consistent error-free financial record keeping and report preparation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting strict deadlines for financial closing and reporting cycles.

Desirable

  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIPS that demonstrates advanced expertise in finance, accounting, or procurement practices.
  • Experience working in a digital marketing, communications, or creative agency environment with an understanding of project-based billing and media production costs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or integrated financial management platforms used in medium-sized organizations.
  • Previous exposure to audit preparation processes and experience liaising with external auditors during financial reviews or tax assessments.
