We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Intern Finance to join our dedicated team at our Kampala office. The successful candidate will work closely with our finance department, providing essential support across a range of functions while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals. Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Intern Finance, you will be an integral part of the finance team, providing support in various areas. This role is focused on learning and development, and your responsibilities will grow as you gain experience.

Financial Transaction Support

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payments, ensuring all transactions are supported by proper documentation and approvals.
  • Support the finance team in verifying invoices, expense reports, and payment requests for accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
  • Help in preparing payment vouchers and writing cheques for various organizational activities and operational needs.
  • Assist with managing the petty cash system, including disbursement and reconciliation, under the supervision of the Finance Officer.

Record Keeping and Documentation

  • Engage in the systematic filing of all financial documents, both electronically and physically, to ensure a clear and accessible audit trail.
  • Perform data entry tasks, assisting in posting financial transactions into the accounting software with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Help maintain updated and organized records for vendors, consultants, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Ensure all financial paperwork is complete, properly signed, and securely stored according to organizational procedures.

Reporting and Reconciliation Assistance

  • Provide support during the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations by cross-referencing bank statements with internal records.
  • Assist the finance team in compiling information and schedules needed for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Offer support during internal and external audit processes by helping to retrieve requested documents and provide necessary information.

Learning, Development, and Team Contribution

  • Actively participate in finance department meetings, team-building activities, and internal training sessions.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to learn about NGO financial management, compliance, and grant management.
  • Perform other administrative and supportive duties as assigned by the supervisor to contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate who is not only academically qualified but also demonstrates a genuine eagerness to learn and a strong commitment to professional ethics. The ideal individual is proactive, highly organized, and possesses a keen eye for detail.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a Recent Graduate (not more than 5 years since graduation) from a recognized university.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
