The Income Auditor plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in safeguarding hotel revenue and ensuring every transaction is accurate and reconciled. Key Responsibilities

• Check figures, postings, and source documents for accuracy and proper authorization within the daily audit cycle.
• Record, store, access, and analyze computerized financial information using Marriott’s property management and accounting systems.
• Control and secure cash, petty cash floats, and cash equivalents according to the property’s cash handling policy.
• Organize, secure, and maintain all financial files and records following document retention policies and confidentiality rules.
• Prepare, maintain, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, and payroll reports for management review.
• Audit and reconcile all revenue postings, including room revenue, food and beverage outlets, banqueting, and other departments.
• Follow all company safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly to the duty manager.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong numerical accuracy and a demonstrable eye for detail when reviewing financial figures and source documents.
• Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication tools.
• Ability to maintain honesty and integrity when handling confidential financial information and large cash sums.
• Good written and spoken English, with the ability to prepare clear documents and answer calls professionally.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as dictated by the audit cycle.

Desirable

• Prior internship or attachment experience in a hotel finance, accounting, or audit environment, even if unpaid.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, property management systems, or general ledger accounting software.
• Working knowledge of Uganda’s tax framework, including VAT, withholding tax, and PAYE requirements.
• Membership or student membership with a recognized professional body such as ICPAU or ACCA.
