Job Overview

Bodmando Consulting Group is seeking a Quantitative Data Analyst to join its Evaluation Unit in Uganda. This role supports the design and execution of quantitative research across multiple consultancy assignments focused on gender, climate and social impact. The successful candidate will work closely with research teams to ensure data quality and analytical rigor.

As a feminist international consulting firm, Bodmando operates at the intersection of gender and climate justice. The Quantitative Data Analyst will contribute to high-impact research that informs policy and program design across 31 countries where the firm has implemented over 65 projects. This is a full-time position based in Uganda with potential for regional collaboration.

The role requires strong technical skills in data management and statistical analysis, combined with a commitment to Bodmando’s mission of advancing equity and sustainability. Candidates should be detail-oriented, adaptable and eager to apply their expertise in real-world evaluation contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design of quantitative research methodologies including sampling approaches and survey instrument development for evaluation projects.
• Develop and program quantitative data collection tools using KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO or similar mobile data collection platforms.
• Create sampling frameworks and calculate appropriate sample sizes based on research objectives and population characteristics.
• Monitor incoming survey data and conduct routine data quality checks during fieldwork to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Clean, manage and analyze quantitative datasets using statistical software such as Stata, SPSS or R.
• Generate descriptive statistics, perform inferential analysis and interpret results in consultation with senior researchers.
• Prepare clear data visualizations including charts, graphs and tables for inclusion in research reports and presentations.
• Contribute to the interpretation of findings and support the drafting of technical sections of evaluation reports.
• Assist in maintaining data archives and ensuring compliance with data protection and ethical research standards.
• Provide technical support to field teams and help troubleshoot data collection issues during survey implementation.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science or a related quantitative field from a recognized university.
• Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in quantitative data analysis, preferably in research, evaluation or development contexts.
• Proficiency in statistical software including Stata, SPSS or R for data management and analysis.
• Experience with mobile data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK or SurveyCTO for survey design and implementation.
• Strong understanding of sampling techniques and ability to calculate sample sizes for various research designs.

Desirable

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline or relevant professional certification in data analysis.
• Experience working on gender equality, climate change or social impact evaluation projects.
• Familiarity with GIS basics and ability to incorporate spatial data into analysis when required.
• Knowledge of data visualization principles and experience with tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Previous work with international NGOs, UN agencies or donor-funded programs in East Africa.
