This role is critical to expanding Norvik Hospital’s market presence in Kampala and surrounding areas.

The position sits at the intersection of healthcare delivery and business development, requiring someone who understands both medical services and sales principles. You will work closely with clinical teams to translate medical expertise into compelling value propositions for corporate clients and individual patients. Success in this role directly impacts the hospital’s ability to serve more Ugandans with quality healthcare.

Norvik Hospital operates under Norvik Enterprises Ltd, a leading importer and distributor of pharmaceutical and medical products in Uganda. This affiliation provides unique advantages in understanding both the supply chain and patient care aspects of healthcare delivery. The role offers significant autonomy to develop innovative outreach strategies while being supported by established hospital systems and resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and outreach strategies to promote Norvik Hospital’s full range of medical services to target audiences.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate organizations, insurance companies, schools, and community groups as potential referral sources.
  • Conduct regular outreach visits, deliver presentations, and organize promotional activities to increase hospital visibility in Kampala.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals who refer patients to the hospital.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research and generate qualified leads for hospital services, packages, and health camps.
  • Follow up systematically on leads, referrals, and prospective clients to convert opportunities into actual patient admissions and revenue.
  • Promote specialized hospital services, health packages, wellness programs, and community health initiatives through targeted marketing efforts.
  • Coordinate participation in health camps, community outreaches, corporate wellness programs, and other promotional events across Uganda.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence on competitors, evolving customer needs, and emerging healthcare trends to inform strategy.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all outreach activities, leads generated, referrals received, and conversion rates for performance tracking.
  • Prepare detailed weekly and monthly sales and outreach reports with actionable recommendations for improving team and individual performance.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, finance, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless patient experience from first contact through treatment.
  • Achieve or exceed agreed-upon quarterly sales targets, outreach activity metrics, referral numbers, and revenue contribution goals.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a medical/health-related field OR Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum two years of proven experience in sales, marketing, business development, or outreach roles preferably within healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving sales targets, developing client relationships, and generating leads through proactive outreach activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse stakeholders including doctors, corporate executives, and community leaders.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data reporting tools to track activities and measure performance accurately.
  • Valid Ugandan driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within Kampala and surrounding districts for client visits and events.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a hospital, clinic, or medical diagnostics setting with understanding of patient referral pathways.
  • Knowledge of Ugandan healthcare insurance systems, corporate wellness programs, and occupational health service requirements.
  • Experience organizing or participating in health camps, wellness screenings, or community health education initiatives.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to explain complex hospital services in simple, compelling language to non-medical audiences.
  • Additional certification in sales techniques, customer relationship management, or digital marketing platforms.
  • Fluency in Luganda or other local languages alongside English to effectively engage diverse communities across Uganda.
