Working closely with the Strategy Director and cross-functional teams including Creative, Media, and Client Service, the Strategy Analyst will monitor digital platforms, analyze audience behavior, and contribute to strategic planning. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, and YouTube for emerging trends, memes, and viral content to inform real-time cultural insights.
- Analyze audience engagement patterns across platforms to understand Gen-Z and Millennial behavior in Ugandan and East African contexts.
- Use SproutSocial, Brandwatch, and native analytics tools to evaluate campaign performance and prepare detailed reports for internal teams.
- Track platform algorithm updates and feature changes that may affect content reach and engagement strategies.
- Provide insights on local cultural nuances, internet slang, and evolving consumer preferences to guide creative development.
- Collaborate with Strategy Director to translate business challenges into consumer insights and strategic direction.
- Support the development of brand strategies and campaign recommendations grounded in data and cultural intelligence.
- Assist in preparing presentations for client meetings that clearly communicate findings and strategic implications.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sociology, Data Science, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in market research, social media analysis, or strategic planning within an agency or corporate environment.
- Proficiency in using social listening and analytics tools such as SproutSocial, Brandwatch, or native platform insights.
- Strong understanding of Ugandan and East African youth culture, digital trends, and social media dynamics.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting insights to stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience working in advertising, media, or marketing communications agencies.
- Familiarity with qualitative research methods including focus groups and online community monitoring.
- Knowledge of behavioral economics or cultural anthropology principles applied to marketing.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
- Understanding of digital advertising metrics and media planning fundamentals.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
