It is a full-time, fixed-term renewable contract offering stability and growth within a mission-focused organisation. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a welcoming and professional office environment.

Childcare Worldwide has served children in need for over 40 years through church-based Life Centers across Uganda, Kenya, Peru, and India. The organisation exists to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the Gospel and helping children reach their God-given potential through holistic support that includes spiritual, educational, and physical development.

  • Maintain accurate filing systems for both physical and electronic documents, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with organisational record-keeping standards.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including sorting mail, preparing dispatches, and tracking courier services for documents and parcels.
  • Support the Finance and Administration Officer with basic bookkeeping tasks such as processing expense claims, monitoring petty cash, and assisting with invoice preparation.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and workshops by booking venues, arranging transportation, preparing agendas, and distributing materials to participants.
  • Assist in monitoring office supplies inventory, placing orders with approved vendors, and ensuring timely replenishment of essential items like stationery and cleaning materials.
  • Provide administrative support to country program staff by formatting reports, compiling data, and preparing presentations for internal and external meetings.
  • Ensure the office environment remains clean, organised, and presentable at all times, coordinating with support staff as needed for maintenance tasks.

  • Minimum of two years of proven experience in an administrative or office support role within an NGO, corporate, or public sector environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for daily administrative tasks and document preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft clear emails, memos, and reports.
  • Strong organisational abilities with demonstrated capacity to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a faith-based or Christian organisation that understands the values and culture of mission-driven work.
  • Knowledge of basic financial processes such as budget tracking, expense reporting, and familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Previous exposure to child sponsorship programs or community development initiatives in East Africa.
  • Ability to communicate in Luganda or other local Ugandan languages to better serve community visitors and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to assist with occasional field trips or errands as required by the role.

  • Contribution to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) as per Ugandan labour regulations for long-term employee security.
  • Access to basic workplace health insurance coverage for outpatient and inpatient care through an approved provider.
