Job Overview

CFAO Motors Uganda seeks an EFRIS Support Officer to manage electronic fiscal invoicing system operations. The role ensures accurate transaction processing and compliance with Uganda Revenue Authority requirements. The EFRIS Support Officer will work closely with finance and IT teams to maintain seamless integration between business systems and URA platforms. Daily responsibilities include monitoring transaction flows, resolving system issues, and providing technical support to end-users. The role demands strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Based in Kampala, this full-time position offers an opportunity to work with a leading automotive distributor in Uganda. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining regulatory compliance in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process EFRIS transactions accurately by validating invoice data before submission to URA systems.
• Monitor EFRIS system performance daily to identify and resolve processing delays or failures.
• Provide first-line support to users experiencing EFRIS-related issues through ticketing systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of URA EFRIS requirements.
• Perform transaction reconciliation between internal systems and EFRIS-generated reports.
• Manage incident backlog by prioritizing and resolving EFRIS issues within agreed timelines.
• Validate data accuracy in EFRIS submissions by cross-checking with source documents.
• Assist with profile requests for new users or modifications to existing EFRIS credentials.
• Support systems integration efforts by testing API connections and web service endpoints.
• Document all EFRIS support activities and maintain knowledge base articles for recurring issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum two years experience in IT support or systems support roles within Ugandan businesses.
• Proven experience working with URA EFRIS processes including invoice submission and monitoring.
• Understanding of JSON responses, APIs, web services and systems integration principles.
• Familiarity with finance processes including invoices, tax calculations and account reconciliation.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret system logs and identify root causes.

Desirable

• Experience with Toyota business systems or automotive industry ERP platforms.
• Knowledge of CFAO Group systems or similar multinational automotive distributors.
• Certification in ITIL foundations or other recognized IT service management frameworks.
• Experience with tax automation software beyond EFRIS, such as VAT or PAYE systems.
• Familiarity with database querying using SQL for data validation purposes.
• Previous exposure to change management procedures in regulated environments.
