Key Responsibilities

One of the primary duties is to lead business development initiatives by identifying new client opportunities, pitching integrated audit tax and advisory solutions and expanding the firm’s revenue streams. You will be expected to manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring that engagements are planned, executed and delivered in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant Ugandan tax legislation.

Another key responsibility involves providing strategic oversight and quality assurance for all audit tax and advisory assignments. You will review work plans, monitor progress and ensure that the firm’s internal quality control framework is applied consistently. This includes conducting partner‑level reviews, addressing technical queries and confirming that deliverables meet both regulatory requirements and client expectations.

You will also serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned clients, acting as a trusted advisor who understands each client’s business model, sector challenges and strategic goals. By maintaining regular communication and offering proactive advice, you will help clients navigate complex financial and tax environments while identifying opportunities for cross‑selling additional services.

In addition, the role calls for active participation in talent development. You will mentor senior managers and associates, provide coaching on technical skills and leadership competencies and contribute to the firm’s performance management processes. Your leadership will help build a high‑performing team capable of delivering multidisciplinary solutions.

Finally, you will contribute to the firm’s Pan‑African growth strategy by collaborating with offices in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Sudan, sharing best practices and supporting cross‑border initiatives that enhance Ronalds Uganda’s regional footprint.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must hold a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA (Uganda) or an equivalent recognized accountancy certification. A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in audit, tax and advisory services is required, with at least five years in a senior managerial or partner‑level role. Demonstrated expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards, International Standards on Auditing and Ugandan tax law is essential.

Strong business development skills are crucial; you should have a proven track record of winning new clients, expanding existing accounts and selling integrated service lines. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large, complex engagements across industries such as manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications and the public sector is highly desirable.

Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills are required to build trust with clients and stakeholders. You must be able to convey technical concepts clearly to non‑financial audiences and to present proposals persuasively at senior levels. Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate staff, manage performance and foster a collaborative culture, are also important.

Finally, a commitment to continuous learning and adherence to the firm’s ethical standards and quality control policies is expected. Familiarity with the firm’s Pan‑African operations and willingness to travel within the region as needed will be advantageous.
