Job Overview
CiC Insurance Uganda is seeking motivated and results-driven individuals to fill the role of Financial Advisor – Life Business. This position is based in multiple locations across Uganda including Kampala, Mbarara, Gulu, Mbale and Jinja. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring new life insurance clients, retaining existing policyholders, and delivering excellent customer service to grow the Life Business portfolio. This is a full-time opportunity that offers a competitive remuneration package and the chance to develop a rewarding career in the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Advisor – Life Business, you will be at the forefront of identifying sales opportunities and providing market intelligence on Ordinary Life products. You will need to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to tailor your approach effectively. This involves regular field visits, networking with potential clients, and leveraging referrals to build a robust pipeline of prospects.
Another core duty is preparing professional proposals and quotations that strictly adhere to the company’s underwriting guidelines. You will need to assess each client’s financial situation, risk profile, and coverage needs to recommend suitable life insurance solutions. Accuracy and compliance are essential to ensure that all quotations are valid and can be processed smoothly by the underwriting team.
Achieving budgeted premium targets on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis is a critical performance metric. You will be expected to develop and execute sales plans, track your progress against targets, and take corrective actions when necessary. This requires discipline, persistence, and a proactive mindset to consistently meet or exceed expectations.
Ensuring timely premium collection to support policy persistence is also part of your role. You will follow up with clients on payment due dates, address any queries or concerns they may have, and facilitate convenient payment methods. By maintaining good relationships and providing excellent service, you help reduce lapse rates and increase the lifetime value of each policy.
Maximizing sales profitability through effective closing of sales is the final key responsibility. You will employ strong negotiation skills, handle objections confidently, and present the value proposition of life insurance in a compelling manner. Successful closing not only boosts your individual performance but also contributes to the overall profitability of the Life Business unit.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge needed to understand financial products, customer needs, and basic accounting principles relevant to insurance sales.
A minimum of one (1) year of sales experience within the service industry is required. This experience could be in banking, telecommunications, retail, or any other sector where direct customer interaction and target-driven selling are essential. Familiarity with the sales cycle, lead generation, and customer relationship management will be highly advantageous.
Strong communication skills are vital, as you will need to explain complex insurance concepts in simple terms, listen actively to client concerns, and build trust. Negotiation abilities will help you tailor solutions that meet both the client’s needs and the company’s profitability goals. Excellent customer service ensures policyholders feel valued and supported throughout their policy tenure.
Proficiency with computer applications is also expected. You should be comfortable using email, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to prepare proposals and track sales activities. Basic knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems or insurance-specific software will be a plus.
Benefits & Perks
CiC Insurance Uganda offers a competitive salary package that reflects the candidate’s experience and performance potential. In addition to the base salary, successful Financial Advisors can earn attractive commissions and bonuses based on achieving and exceeding sales targets. This performance‑linked remuneration rewards hard work and drives motivation.
The company provides comprehensive health insurance coverage for employees and their immediate dependents, ensuring access to quality medical care when needed. This benefit underscores CiC’s commitment to the wellbeing of its workforce.
To support mobility in the field, the role includes a transport allowance or access to company‑facilitated transportation for client visits across the various regions. This helps reduce out‑of‑pocket expenses and enables advisors to reach prospects efficiently.
Employees also receive a monthly lunch allowance or access to subsidized meals during work hours, contributing to daily convenience and wellbeing. In some locations, housing assistance may be available for staff who need to relocate for work.
