Job Overview
Source Garden Hotel Jinja is seeking a dedicated Food & Beverage Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant, bar, and dining operations. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and food service areas to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Train, schedule, and motivate food and beverage staff to maintain high performance and service standards.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to guarantee consistency and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee inventory management, stock control, and ordering to minimize waste and control costs effectively.
- Handle cash handling procedures, process payments, and reconcile daily sales reports accurately.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all food and beverage outlets.
- Address guest complaints and feedback promptly and professionally to enhance the dining experience.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate menu execution and special event catering requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a food and beverage supervisory role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including proper serving techniques and etiquette.
- Strong understanding of stock control systems, cost management principles, and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Proficiency in using computers for inventory, scheduling, and reporting tasks, including familiarity with hospitality software.
Desirable
- Additional certification in food safety, HACCP, or responsible alcohol service is considered an advantage.
- Experience with banquet and event catering operations, particularly in managing large-scale functions.
- Familiarity with local Ugandan cuisine and beverage preferences to better tailor service offerings.
- Previous experience working in a similar hotel or resort environment in East Africa.
- Ability to speak multiple languages commonly used by tourists in Uganda, such as English, Swahili, or Luganda.
