CLF Medical

Job Overview

CLF Medical is a leading healthcare solutions provider dedicated to supplying high quality medical equipment, diagnostic tools, respiratory care devices and consumable products to healthcare facilities throughout Uganda. The company works closely with private hospitals, government health centres, clinics and laboratories to improve patient outcomes and expand access to essential medical technologies.

We are recruiting a Medical Sales & Business Development Executive to drive B2B growth by identifying new institutional customers, strengthening existing partnerships and increasing revenue from medical equipment sales. The position requires field based engagement with healthcare decision makers to understand their needs and propose suitable CLF Medical solutions.

The role demands that approximately seventy percent of working time be spent in the field visiting hospitals, clinics, laboratories and other healthcare institutions across Uganda. Executives will conduct product demonstrations, attend procurement meetings and build relationships that lead to long term contracts and repeat orders.

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to achieve sales targets, grow the institutional customer base and contribute to CLF Medical’s mission of delivering reliable healthcare solutions. The executive will also provide market feedback that informs product development and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Medical Sales & Business Development Executive will focus on developing a strong sales pipeline, managing relationships with key healthcare stakeholders and delivering technical presentations that align product benefits with client requirements. Daily activities include field visits, proposal preparation, negotiation and after sales support to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Spend about seventy percent of working time in the field visiting hospitals, clinics and laboratories to engage procurement managers, medical directors and clinic owners.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline by identifying new business opportunities, qualifying leads and converting prospects into long term institutional customers.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations for hospital procurement teams, clinic leadership and laboratory staff to show how CLF Medical solutions meet clinical needs.
  • Prepare detailed quotations, negotiate contracts and manage tender submissions for both private hospital procurement processes and public sector electronic procurement opportunities in Uganda.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets by tracking performance metrics, reviewing pipeline health and implementing corrective actions to improve conversion rates and customer acquisition.
  • Provide after sales support feedback to marketing and technical teams, ensuring product usage training, issue resolution and ongoing relationship management for installed equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Applicants must demonstrate a solid foundation in sales or business development, preferably within the healthcare or medical equipment sector. Essential qualifications include relevant academic credentials, proven sales achievement and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences. Candidates should also possess strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences or a related discipline from a recognized university or equivalent institution.
  • Minimum three years of proven experience in medical equipment sales, pharmaceutical sales or healthcare business development roles targeting institutional clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales quotas, manage sales pipelines and deliver technical product presentations to clinical and non clinical audiences.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with fluency in English and preferably Luganda or Swahili for effective stakeholder engagement.

Desirable

Desirable qualifications that can enhance a candidate’s suitability include experience with public sector tender processes, familiarity with electronic procurement systems and a background in respiratory care or diagnostics products. Additional assets are a proven track record in achieving sales targets and a willingness to travel extensively across Uganda.

  • Experience participating in Uganda’s Government Procurement Portal or other e procurement platforms for submitting bids, evaluating awards and managing contract documentation.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment categories such as ventilators, oxygen concentrators, patient monitors, infusion pumps and diagnostic imaging devices.
  • Established network of contacts within private hospital administration, clinic ownership groups and laboratory management teams across Kampala, Wakiso and surrounding districts.
  • Willingness to undertake frequent overnight travel to remote healthcare facilities, attend medical conferences and represent CLF Medical at industry exhibitions throughout the year.

What the Role Offers

CLF Medical provides a competitive compensation package that rewards performance with a base salary, commission earnings and quarterly bonuses. The role also includes benefits designed to support employee wellbeing, professional development and work life balance in a dynamic healthcare environment. Employees receive ongoing training on product knowledge, sales techniques and healthcare industry trends to enhance career progression.

  • Attractive basic salary plus commission structure tied to achieved sales targets, quarterly performance bonuses and annual salary reviews.
  • Company provided vehicle, fuel allowance and maintenance support to facilitate extensive field travel across all regions of Uganda.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage for employee and immediate family, access to private medical facilities and wellness programs.
